Young Writers in Action: Maybe Someday

MAYBE SOMEDAY
by Liora, 10, Manhattan, USA

Child reading newspaper. Photo courtesy pexels.comThere is this thing called the coronavirus
It canceled my art class where we drew on papyrus
It canceled everything including school
I can’t even go swimming in my building’s pool

I can’t see my friends
Or get any books that they usually lend
It’s always in a newspaper or on the news
It really gives me the blues

Oh how I wish it would go away
Maybe someday
